Tegaderm Method:

Some of our artists will provide you with a Tegaderm bandage. Also known as Saniderm, Second Skin or Tattooderm. This method of healing is a little different, so it's important to follow these steps.

Tegaderm is a sterile, breathable, waterproof, germ-proof barrier to protect your new tattoo. Tegaderm will protect your tattoo from contamination and will also protect your clothes and sheets from excess ink, blood and fluid that are the normal by-products of healing a tattoo. You can shower normally while healing, but please still abstain from swimming or submerging your tattoo in bodies of water.

Your tattoo artist will apply a Tegaderm bandage over your tattoo or will provide you with the means and instructions to do so at home the following morning.

Once applied, Leave this bandage on for 3 - 4 days. No Longer.

After 3 - 4 days remove the bandage and clean thoroughly with warm water and fragrance free soap.

Continue washing your tattoo 2 - 3 times per day until it is completely healed.

Apply a thin layer of fragrance free lotion 2 - 3 times per day AFTER washing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you take walk-ins? -
Tattoo Faction takes walk-ins daily on a first-come, first-served basis and recommend this option for smaller, single-session tattoos. We can not guarantee tattooer availability or wait times since they will vary daily based on the number of walk-ins we receive. However, we can typically take care of the majority of tattoos that come through the door each day.

What do I need to bring to get a tattoo? -
You will need a government-issued ID with your birth date and picture. This can be a driver’s license, state i.d. card, or passport. School and other forms of ID are not accepted.

What forms of payment are accepted? -
We accept cash, cards, and mobile-wallet payments (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.).

How much will it cost? -
Our shop minimum is $75 on the arms & Legs, $100 on the hands, feet, neck, or torso. Most tattoos are priced individually based on size, body placement, and level of detail. Larger tattoos taking multiple sessions are priced hourly at $200/hr. It is difficult to give an accurate price estimate without visual reference and exact measurements. Once a design is finalized, the tattooer can give you a price. We suggest talking with your tattoo artist to get an estimate before getting your tattoo and also letting them know if you have a budget or dollar amount you are working with.

Do I tip my tattoo artist? -
Tipping is not required but is always greatly appreciated by your tattoo artist. We recommend tipping like you would any other service professional.

How much are touch-ups? -
Touch-ups for tattoos done at Tattoo Faction are complimentary for up to a year. For tattoos not done at Tattoo Faction or done over a year ago, the cost depends on how much work needs to be done on the tattoo.

Can I bring in my own design? -
We encourage you to bring in visual references of what you like so your tattooer can get a better sense of what you are looking for. Your reference does not have to be exact and can simply be ideas or examples of styles and things you like for the tattooer to draw from. Or, you can bring in exact designs that you would like replicated. Keep in mind that some things that look great on paper or on a screen do not always translate well as a tattoo. Your tattoo artist can work with your design to make sure it works as a tattoo. We also have thousands of designs on the walls of the shop and in books behind the counter for you to choose from.

Can you fix my old tattoo? -
Typically, yes, although it does depend on the tattoo. While we can re-do tattoos and do cover-ups often, each one is unique and might require a different approach. We recommend you speak to one of our tattoo artists in person and let them look at the tattoo to see what options are available based on the situation you are working with.

Do you do cover-ups? -
Yes, we do. Cover-ups typically need to be darker and larger than the original tattoo. Certain designs work better for cover-ups, but having an idea of what you would like to cover it with is suggested.  We recommend you speak to one of our tattoo artists in person and let them take a look at the tattoo to see what the best options arebased on the situation you are working with.

How old do I need to be to get a tattoo? -
18 with a state issued photo ID present. We offer tattoos to minors at least 16 years of age with Parental Consent as well as photo ID for the minor and the parent. Matching last names or addresses is required.
